Message from the Director – Professor Dimitrios Georgakopoulos
It is with great pride and excitement that I share the official opening of our Hub headquarters, located in EN705B on Level 7 of the Engineering Building at Swinburne University of Technology.
This milestone event was marked by the presence of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Karen Hapgood, and the Dean of the School of Science, Computing and Engineering Technologies, Professor Enzo Palombo, whose support and leadership continue to be instrumental to our success.
The opening was more than just a ceremonial moment—it was the first opportunity for many of our Hub members to connect in person, in a space purpose-built for collaboration, innovation, and partnership. The new headquarters offers dedicated workspaces for staff and partners, a formal meeting room for planning and review, and an inviting, casual setting for informal discussions and relationship-building.
As our projects officially commence, this space will serve as the beating heart of our Hub—a hive of activity where ideas are born, partnerships are strengthened, and impactful research comes to life. It reflects the energy, ambition, and collective purpose of our community, and I look forward to seeing it thrive.
