Meet our team of academic and industry innovators and problem solvers committed to digital manufacturing transformation.
The Program Leaders oversee strategic direction, research quality, and program alignment with goals. They manage operations, ensure compliance, and drive innovation, collaborating closely to guide activities, support researchers, and achieve impactful outcomes in line with industry and academic objectives.
Chief Investigators (CIs) lead research projects, set agendas, and ensure objectives are met. They manage projects, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with ARC guidelines. CIs foster industry collaborations driving research excellence and impact.
Industry Partner Investigators (PIs) are innovators from manufacturers and their associated technology providers, committed to improving industry outcomes. These experienced professionals bridge the gap between academia and industry, contributing expertise, resources, and real-world insights. Their involvement ensures research is aligned with industry needs, driving innovation and delivering practical, impactful solutions. By fostering collaboration between universities and industry, PIs play a vital role in advancing Australia’s manufacturing capabilities and addressing sector challenges.
Academic Partner Investigators (PIs) are researchers or experts who contribute to an Australian Research Council (ARC)–funded project but are not employed by the lead organisation running the project. They may be based at other universities, government agencies, publicly funded research organisations, not-for-profit groups, or be located outside Australia and not reside in Australia for the period required under ARC eligibility rules. These Partner Investigators bring specialist knowledge, skills, data, or access to facilities that help strengthen the research. While they play an important supporting role, they do not lead the project.
Senior Research Associates lead major research projects, supervise staff, and develop methodologies. Research Associates and Research Engineers conduct specialised research, support experiments, and collaborate on projects, contributing to publications and industry consultations.
High Degree Research (HDR) Students conduct research for their degree, collaborating on industry projects and delivering seminars. Placement students gain hands-on experience by assisting with research tasks and participating in project activities.
