International Honour

Presented by the National Academy of Artificial Intelligence (NAAI), the award recognises internationally renowned scholars whose research has made significant and sustained contributions to the advancement of artificial intelligence. Recipients are selected for their impact across areas including AI theory, intelligent systems, machine learning, robotics, natural language processing and interdisciplinary AI innovation.

Professor Zomaya's recognition further strengthens an already outstanding record of international achievement. In addition to this honour, he has also been recognised as a Highly Cited Researcher, placing him among the world's most influential researchers based on the number of times his work is cited by other researchers. The Highly Cited Researchers list is one of the most widely recognised indicators of global research impact, identifying scholars whose publications rank among the top 1% most cited in their fields worldwide.

The NAAI Distinguished Artificial Intelligence Scholar Award provides a complementary measure of excellence, recognising sustained leadership, innovation and contribution to the global advancement of artificial intelligence. Together, these honours highlight both research impact and scientific leadership.

The inclusion of both Professor Zomaya and Professor Ranjan in the 2026 Global Laureates list reflects the calibre of expertise within the Hub's national and international research network and reinforces the Hub's commitment to advancing world-class digital manufacturing research and innovation.

Congratulations to Professor Albert Zomaya and Professor Rajiv Ranjan on this outstanding international recognition.
